On December 12th, CGT Series New Product Launch and Gas Turbine Industry Chain Innovation Development Conference was grandly held in Harbin, China. The event was jointly hosted by No. 703 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, the National Engineering Research Center for Special Equipment and Power Systems in Marine and Offshore Engineering — Gas Turbine R&D and Testing Laboratory , and the National Energy Gas Turbine Technology R&D (Experimental) Center. It was organized by CSIC Longjiang GH Gas Turbine Co., Ltd., Harbin Guanghan Gas Turbine Co., Ltd., and Wuxi Sanyuan Gas Turbine Technology Co., Ltd. The conference garnered attention and support from authoritative academic experts, relevant national ministries, provincial and municipal governments, and industry associations.
With the theme of ” New Product Launch, Smart Chain Collaboration — Product Power, Innovation Power, Connectivity, Growth Power,” the conference featured a series of activities, including an opening ceremony, new product launch, project signings, and the industry chain innovation development forum. Over 350 guests from more than 150 organizations, including government agencies, key domestic and international fields, upstream and downstream industry chain partners, and industry association representatives, gathered to witness the grand release of the CGT series new products. Together, they pooled their wisdom and energy to explore the development trends of the gas turbine industry.

Lin Feng, chairman of the conference and president of No. 703 Research Institute, delivered a welcome speech. Lin Feng pointed out that since the 18^th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has attached great importance to scientific and technological innovation and the development of cutting-edge equipment manufacturing industry, propelling China’s gas turbine industry onto the fast – track of independent innovation, and a series of cutting-edge equipment has been successfully developed. No. 703 Research Institute has always been guided by major national projects, supported by innovation platforms, guaranteed by systematic capabilities, driven by scientific and technological innovation, and empowered the industrial development through digital intelligent manufacturing. It has successfully created the Chinese brand of the CGT series of gas turbines, providing users with first – class “products + services”. With the successful launch of the new CGT30 and CGT40 series products, new members have been added to the nation’s key equipment. This is of great significance for achieving independent control of China’s core equipment and ensuring the security of the national energy strategy.

Yi Zongyin, deputy director of Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech. Yi zongyin pointed out that Heilongjiang province adheres to the national innovation-driven development strategy and formulates a series of policies and measures to support the development of the gas turbine industry. As a leading enterprise in the industry, No. 703 Research Institute has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of gas turbine technology in Heilongjiang. In the future, it is hoped that No. 703 Research Institute will continue to demonstrate the responsibility of a central state-owned enterprise in promoting the development of the gas turbine industry, fully leverage its role as an industry leader, and take this conference as an opportunity to make the most of the national initiative for large-scale equipment upgrades.

Huang Li, President of the China General Machinery Industry Association, delivered a speech. Huang Li reflected on the journey of striving for the localization of industrial gas turbines alongside No. 703 Research Institute. After more than a decade of efforts, key equipment for long-distance pipelines has been fully localized, making significant contributions to ensuring the security of China’s energy arteries. Today, we are not only witnessing the launch of two new product series but also the solid strides taken by No. 703 Research Institute on the path of technological innovation and industrial development. The China General Machinery Industry Association will continue to serve as a bridge to drive technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the gas turbine industry, and contributing to the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.

Also in attendance at this conference were the following representatives, Sun Changji, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Mechanical Industry, Wu Wenjie from the Second Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Shi Zhaohui, Vice Director and First-Level Inspector of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Du Yi, Vice Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Office for Civil-Military Integration, Zhao Xin, Director of the Energy Comprehensive Division of the Heilongjiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, He Jingrong, Vice Director of the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Li Tao, Vice Director of the Wuxi Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Liu Yinfeng, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology and Informatization Department of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, and Yang Tiecheng, Director of the Major Projects Office of the China Machinery Industry Federation. The event was presided over by Sun Peng, Vice President of No. 703 Research Institute.

The event showcased the newly developed CGT30 and CGT40 series gas turbine products through a video presentation, and Lin Feng delivered a report on the new product launch. Amidst the attention of all attendees, the launch ceremony for the CGT30 and CGT40 series gas turbine products was grandly held. Sun Changji pointed out in his expert remarks that the CGT30 and CGT40 units, fully benchmarked against world-class standards, were independently developed by No. 703 Research Institute, with performance indicators reaching international advanced levels.

Following the press conference, a signing ceremony was held for the localization project of the 30MW-class gas turbine-driven compressor unit and the supply contract for the first CGT40 gas turbine power generation unit.. Yuan Shizhen, Deputy General Manager of Ningbo Energy Group Co., Ltd., and Wang Duocai, Director of the Digitalization Center of the West-East Gas Pipeline Company under China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corporation (PipeChina), delivered keynote speeches. He Shuaiyao, General Manager of Ningbo Kefeng Gas Turbine Thermal Power Co., Ltd., delivered a report titled “A Spark Ignites, a Prairie Fire is Expected.”

On the afternoon, the industrial chain innovation and development conference was held, which had rich and diversified contents, covering theme reports, expert presentations, supply chain enterprise representative reports, and awards ceremonies for strategic suppliers and gold suppliers. The event provided an in-depth analysis of the current status and future plans of China’s gas turbine industry from the perspective of the supply chain.

Following the conference, representatives visited No. 703 Research Institute’s small and medium-sized gas turbine industrial base. They had the opportunity to witness the grandeur of gas turbines and gain a deeper understanding of the efficient and orderly operations of the industrial base.
