First Independently Developed 30 MW Gas Turbine Driven Compressor Unit Passes the Acceptance Test

On April 24th, the first 30 MW gas turbine driven compressor unit in China, developed by our team, successfully passed the national acceptance in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province. After appraisal, the performance of the unit can fully meet the construction and operation requirements of China’s natural gas pipelines, reaching the international advanced level and achieving a major breakthrough in the field of energy equipment in China.

The unit was launched for development in 2010 and officially put into industrial assessment operation in December 2018. By January 2020, the cumulative operating time of the unit has reached 4000 h, and the industrial assessment had been completed successfully. So far, the cumulative operating time of the unit has exceeded 8000 h. During the industrial assessment, the unit demonstrated good performance and operational reliability, achieving international advanced level in performance, and the key ecological indicator – NOx emissions was superior to the level of imported units. In terms of reliability, the key indicator of MTBF(Mean Time Between Failures)is also better than the same level of imported units. The industrial operation assessment results show that all performance parameters of the domestic 30 MW gas turbine driven compressor unit have met the technical indicators determined when the project was developed and fully met the acceptance conditions.

The successful development and application of this unit has filled domestic gaps of key energy technologies and equipment, and have basically established a design, production, and experimental verification system for 30 MW gas turbine driven compressor units in China, which is of great significance for achieving independent and controllable core equipment in the energy field and ensuring national energy strategic security.
